Humanistic Integrative Counselling
in Witney and Woodstock
Where connection meets compassionate understanding
Welcome to Green Heron Counselling
There can be times in life when the load feels too heavy, and everything can appear overwhelming. Perhaps you are struggling with your emotions, relationship challenges, or life changes that leave you feeling uncertain with the path ahead. At times, we all question ourselves, feel anxious about the future, or become exhausted trying to cope alone. If any of this resonates with how you feel, you are not alone. Recognising how you are feeling can be the all-important first steps to longer term understanding and improvement. Reaching out for support takes courage... you do not have to carry this burden alone.
I'm Jilly, a Therapeutic Counsellor, offering individual therapy for adults in Witney and Woodstock. Whether you're looking for short-term support through a difficult period or longer-term exploration of patterns that make you feel ‘stuck’, I provide a safe and confidential space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings and share your concerns, without judgement. My client-led approach respects and accepts you for exactly who you are, and through working together we will seek to gain insights, provide greater clarity to your own challenges, and support your self-awareness, bringing acceptance and perhaps most importantly, a way forward.
Modern day living brings many challenges, and on occasions we need support. Through working together, we can look at what's happening in your life and help you make sense of your experiences, in a way that feels meaningful to you.
I work to support and empower you to find your own answers and make the changes that feel right for you. My humanistic approach creates the right conditions for you to increase your self-awareness in order to bring your unconscious thoughts into view, so you can move towards your fullest potential.
I listen with sensitivity, empathy and acceptance to create an environment where you can explore even your most difficult emotions.
Whether you're dealing with bereavement, anxiety, relationship struggles, low mood, or are simply feeling stuck in an unhelpful cycle... counselling can provide tools to help you gain deeper insight into what's really going on. Together we can explore your patterns of relating and reacting, helping you understand why you respond the way you do.
Rather than being told what to do, you will develop a clearer understanding of yourself and what truly matters to you. This self-awareness and clarity empowers you to make choices that feel authentic and healthy, helping you move towards the life you want to live.
I have a professional background in early child development working as an early years teacher in the community. This role required me to work collaboratively with families in a supportive capacity.
Working with families facing challenges, taught me how important it is to carefully listen and work together. As a counsellor, I bring my honesty, integrity, sensitivity and empathy to support my clients. I believe that it is the relationship which allows healing to happen. As a Counsellor I attend regular supervision and CPD so I can offer the best support possible for my clients.

When you are ready to take that first step, we can arrange an initial session where we can meet and ensure that we are a good fit. This is a full 50-minute session where we will talk about what's brought you to counselling and what outcome you are hoping for.
We can discuss how counselling works, review the counselling agreement and start building the trusting relationship that is so important for our work together. I will explain how I work so you know what to expect. There is no pressure to commit beyond this first session – it is about you understanding if counselling feels right for you.

I use an Integrative approach, which means I tailor my way of working to your unique needs, goals and experiences. Rather than using just one method, I draw on different counselling approaches to best support you as an individual. This flexibility means we can work in a number of different ways and adapt how we work to whatever feels most helpful for you. Examples of an Integrative approach include:
This puts you at the heart of our work together, trusting that you have the answers within you and my role is to create the right conditions for you to find them.
This helps us understand the different parts of ourselves and how we relate to others, looking at patterns that might have developed early in life.
This focuses on what's happening in the here and now, helping you become more aware of your thoughts, feelings and behaviours in the present moment.
This emphasises how important our relationship is in the counselling process, because it's through genuine connection that healing happens.
I offer in-person counselling sessions in both Witney and Woodstock. We can meet face-to-face in a safe, confidential space, where you can be completely yourself. Sessions are 50 minutes and are normally weekly, though we can discuss what works best for you.

Life can feel overwhelming when you're struggling with bereavement, anxiety, depression, or grief that seems too heavy to carry alone. Perhaps you are navigating difficult relationships, facing major life changes, or dealing with trauma that affects your daily life. Many people come to counselling when their confidence has taken a knock, when work stress feels unmanageable, or when they're simply feeling stuck and are unsure how to move forward.
I also work with people experiencing chronic illness, supporting those who identify as neurodivergent, and helping clients work through feelings of shame and guilt. Whatever has brought you to consider counselling, there's no issue too small or too complex that cannot be explored together. If you are not sure whether counselling might help with what you're going through, please get in touch. We can meet and discuss your situation during our initial session.
Sessions and Fees
I have a limited number of reduced-fee spaces available for students, OAPs, and anyone facing financial hardship.
Payment should be made before each session by bank transfer.
If, for any reason, you are unable to attend a session, please give 48 hours notice if possible, as a charge for the room fee may be incurred.

Thank you for considering Green Heron Counselling.
I aim to respond to emails within 24 hours. Please feel free to tell me a little about what has brought you to consider counselling, and I can let you know how I might be able to help.
You can use this form to get in touch if you prefer. All enquiries are treated with complete confidentiality.
This really depends on what you want to work on. Some people find a few sessions helpful, while others find that a longer-term arrangement is beneficial. We can talk about this as we go along, and you can always decide what feels right for you.
Yes, everything we discuss is confidential. The only time I would need to break confidentiality is if I was seriously concerned about your safety or someone else's safety.
Payment by bank transfer before each session. I will provide my bank details at our initial appointment.
That is completely okay. Finding the right counsellor is important. If, after our initial session or early sessions, you don't feel that we are working well together, we can talk about this, and I can help you find someone who might provide a better fit.
We'll spend time talking about what has brought you to counselling and discuss how we might work together and what outcomes you are hoping for. You can ask any questions you have about counselling or about me.
Most people find weekly sessions work well, but we can discuss what suits your needs and circumstances.
